There are so many creative ways to carve fruits and vegetables, such as these beautiful tea set carvings. It’s amazing how a simple piece of fruit can be transformed into an incredible work of art.
I’ve received photos of tea set carvings from several customers and fellow carvers and thought I’d compile them all in a blog post for easy viewing. Each person has a unique twist on the tea set carvings and has used a different selection of fruits and vegetables. Take a look and perhaps these can serve as inspiration for your own future fruit and vegetable carvings.
Creative Tea Set Carvings
Najwa Dorgalli recently sent me some photos on Facebook of her remarkable tea set carvings.
This first tea set includes carvings of butternut squash, baby honeydew, carrots and zucchini.
Najwa created a second example of tea set carvings using a butternut squash, grapefruit, carrots and a Chinese pumpkin (also known as Kabocha squash).
Here’s one more photo of Najwa’s tea set carvings using a pumpkin, zucchini and grapefruit and carrots.
In addition to the tea sets, Najwa also carved a couple of Turkish coffee sets. The coffee pot is made out of butternut squash and carrots while the cups are Indian eggplant and grapefruit with beets and turnip.
Here is another of Najwa’s Turkish coffee sets with a pretty carved kabocha squash serving as a bowl.
One final photo from Najwa shows this lamp that she created from a carved acorn squash.

Kim Thielker carved this wild and whimsical watermelon tea cup with a rose design. What a fun idea for a spring birthday party!
Here’s a photo of Kim’s entire fruit carving display with the tea cup carvings. Kim made use of food colorings to make vibrant colors as well as adding brightly colored feathers, butterflies and doilies making for a super colorful display.
While I’ve included this photo of Tzipy Cohen’s tea set in an earlier post, I thought I’d share it again here. The entire tea set display is carved out fruits and vegetables, including mini honeydew melon, beet, papaya, pumpkin and turnip.
These tea set carvings would be perfect for celebrating a birthday, wedding or baby shower.
